Used camping stove now I’m panicking!

So we live in west wales and have been absolutely battered by storms without electricity all day and all night. We cannot go anywhere very much stuck at home.
I have used the gas camping stove to heat water and warm some soup. So less than 10 minutes each time about 3 times today. Now I am completely freaking out about carbon monoxide in the house. We have no alarm as we don’t really need one for anything usually. Looking for some reassurance or advice. A very worried and exhausted mum. 😟

Just open the window a crack when you’re done surely

Is it a gas stove? If so, it's the same as a gas hob and carbon monoxide isn't likely unless the stove is faulty.

Don't barbecue indoors though because that is a risk

The concern about carbon monoxide poisoning from camping stoves is based on using them in a poorly ventilated confined space eg: a tent.

Open your windows. Ventilate the room. Go outside and take deep breaths of fresh air. You'll be fine.

You don't honestly think gas camping stoves would be so easily available if they were so likely to kill in by using the do you?

Unless the stove is faulty there's no issue. Was the flame a normal blue gas colour? Carbon monoxide is yellow/orange flame with no blue.

Also if you're using it for 10 minutes then switching it off the gas will disperse, it's when things are constant on you get a problem (boilers and gas fires for example)

If you're still worried open a window for a few
Minutes.

And also get a carbon monoxide alarm for the future

Thank you 💛 DH said I was over worrying. I did crack open a window but I worried after googling it that it wasn’t enough. It’s been a stressful 24 hours!
