Holy sh*t this heat.

I don't know if it's because I'm 6 weeks PP but I cannot and I mean cannot stop sweating. This is actually unbelievable.

It also doesn't help that I have a very fussy newborn and a toddler who wants to run for the hills at every given opportunity 😂

I need your tips on how to stay cool.

So far, I have 2 fans, took a freezing shower and drinking plenty of fluids. Wishing it was wine but hey ho 😂 and keeping the baby in light clothing and a very light cellular blanket.

Won't be long until we're complaining about the freezing cold. But at this rate, bring it on!

I’ll take cold over this any day.

I much prefer cold and don’t complain about it. This kind of weather makes me unwell every time.

And the bugs! We left the kitchen window open last night with the light on - found about 15 biggish moths flapping around when I went to close it.

Hahaha 🤣 we're the same here. And they try and attack your face during the night!

Hold your wrists under the cold tap - let the water flow over the inside of your wrist.

I'm a heat lover - but at 35 weeks pregnant, I'd do anything to wake up to a frosty morning!

Cold wet flannel or small towel draped on the back of your neck. Have two on the go, one on and one in the fridge ready to swap over.

Highly recommend cooling towels. They stay cold for hours, just drape them over yourself as needed. A friend used them in Florida over the summer and said they were a godsend.

I finally got to sleep at 2am this morning (in fairness I did sleep until 10 so I did make it up). Temp in my sitting room when I finally went to bed was 29 (and still is).

A poster on another thread berated some of us for not liking this heat and asked would you prefer it to be frosty and cold and you're out there having to scrape the windscreen at 6pm? would you?? turned out quite a number of us would prefer it. 😆

I'm going to look at the cooling towels. ATM I'm relying on fans and having my feet on a hot water bottle filled with icy cold water.

You could try what I accidentally did on Friday. Go outside, get a bucket, put the garden hose into it and turn on the tap. If the water pressure is suitably high, the hose will whip out of the bucket and spray you from head to foot. Okay, you'll be soaked but you'll be much cooler!

Well, that would work if I had a garden 😉

When we were kids and the weather was hot grandad would turn the lawnsprinkler on and we'd run in and out of the spray. None of my neighbours have lawns to water, unfortunately.

Cold bucket of water with a towel next to it to intermittently dunk your feet into.

Ditch the baby, they’re hot water bottles in this weather 😂

Yep, love it when it's cold, I have loads of energy and get so much done. Bring it on!

In this weather I go into what I call reverse lizard - lounging around with no energy and doing nothing at all (despite there being a lot I should be doing). At least in cold weather I can wrap up and keep moving.

Still waiting for the rain that was supposed to start an hour ago.

Not a cold shower - tepid is better, let your skin air dry if you can
