Being 32 weeks pregnant in this heat is no joke.

For the love of goodness, I am absolutely dying in this heat. I'm in Scotland and it's 27oc.

How is everyone else coping?

How are you staying cool? I have a huge fan and it's barely touching the sides.

How do you keep your room cool at night?

You cant really in these temperatures unless you've got air con or a particularly cool house. Otherwise its damage limitation, with fans, wet sheets etc.

Oh how I wish I'd have invested in aircon. This is brutal 🤣

You probably should invest in AC - it’s only going to get hotter in July

38 degrees and 36 weeks doesn’t sound great

Itsaknotat · 12/06/2023 16:54

Air con costs a fortune to run. I can easily survive without heating but these temperatures kill me off. Stroll on Autumn.

I would, I honestly would. But we rent atm, so not worth it until we find our forever home. Hopefully soon though.

Yeah it's killing me honestly. I've had 2 showers already.

Keep blinds/curtains closed during the day, especially south facing. Sleep with just a cotton sheet, no duvet, and a fan of you need it. Not pregnant but menopausal! Oh and a cool shower before bed.
Don't worry, you're in Scotland. These temperatures never lasts long!

Oh god. Is that's what's forecast for July? 38c? Shock I can't face it.

I used to wear tops straight out the washing machine when I was pregnant. Awful the heat when you're feeling uncomfortable already.

I do use sports ice packs in bed. One on upper arm and one on opposite thigh when it's unbearable.

Doubt it's forecast realistically but the way climate change is going it's very probable

We've got one of these: https://www.jmldirect.com/at-home/home-personal-cooling/chillmax-air-personal-space-air-cooler-and-humidifier

Not as good as AC but not bad. In the heatwave last summer I had it pointing at feet and it did make it more bearable. Plus windows/blinds closed.

Chillmax Air

Personal space air cooler and humidifier
