Coronation weekend weather.

I think it can be summarised as 'oh dear'.
Coronation Day itself looks pretty showery in most places, with more prolonged rain in the west in the morning.

Sunday away from more northern areas in Scotland, showery, perhaps thundery at times.

Monday rain or showers.

A very old fashioned bank holiday weekend to come. It feels rather fitting to be honest.

Any predictions on when we’ll get a longish spell of decent weather?!

We’ve just booked a last minute glamping trip as it was discounted by 40%. Hoping that it will be showery and dry at times rather than solid rain but we thought we’d take our chances.

I have no recollection of the previous coronation as I was only in a pushchair at the time. Apparently, it was bucketing with rain.

No change in the forecast. Sat/Sun/Mon all look to be rainy and or showery on each day. Sunday may stay dry for some, but with a risk of thunderstorms in places.

I suppose for the Friday overnighters on the Mall, it does at least look probably dry over Friday night.

In London itself, a dry morning hopefully, but showers by lunch time and generally a dry day.

Good. I hope all the people lining the route get soaked and all the street parties get washed away.

I’m sorry that your life is so devoid of joy that you feel the need to wish misery on others

Show us on the doll where the nasty monarchy hurt you, Bimbom.

I only wish it on royalists. And Tory voters.

People are unable to just "scroll on" anymore aren't they?

Tomorrow still looks sunshine/showers/thunderstorms for many, including in London. Thunderstorms tend to look to be focused in England. I'm hopeful that they will clear away later on into the evening, but I'd still be prepared for storms to pop up.

Saturday, rain or heavy showers sweep in from the SW. some showers might pop up in London mid morning, but by lunch they look more established there. Not a dreadful day, but certainly have waterproofs available.

On Sunday a mix of sunshine and showers for many. Feeling pleasant and warm in the sun. Raincoat and suncream!

Monday, a similar theme, but generally duller in the south than on Sunday.

For the record, I have zero interest in the royal family. I probably won't watch on Saturday, I'll go for a nice walk instead probably. But it is of general national interest, lots of people will be out and about, either watching the coronation or simply using it as an excuse to have parties. So I don't think being wishing horrid weather on anyone is the right thing to do. (Though if Sunak's well coiffured hair got wet and stuck to his head annoyingly, I would not be sad)

I'm happy with showers this weekend. I have a new waterproof jacket to try out on a long walk. I need to know how waterproof it is before some serious mountain walks later in the year.

I'm sure anyone in London will be ok, those transparent poncho things are very cheap and effective if they have nothing better.
