Anyone know what the motorways are like?

Can't get any sense out of AA or RAC. Papers hyping it up. Basically I need to drive from Gloucestershire to Hull which would be via the midlands, M1 and M18. Don't want to drive if risky, don't want to call it off unnecessarily. Has anyone actually been out on the roads and knows what it's like? It's fine here, some snow but not settling. Thanks!

The M1 in Bedfordshire is fine, if that helps with a piece of the jigsaw

Type in 'weather cam' or 'live traffic cam' and the area and you'll get live footage.
