With a thaw coming for most this weekend, frozen pipes might burst. It's always worth knowing what to do, both in case of home bursts and external water mains bursts. There has been a large burst in Camden overnight affecting a huge area, which has prompted this post.
Theres some advice here

Make sure you know where your internal and external stopcocks are and importantly that you can turn them. They can get very stiff if they've not been used.
If a water main goes then water suppliers will supply water for affected customers at collection points, but obviously this doesn't happen instantly.
If you are in an affected area, obviously think of those neighbours who aren't mobile and check how you can get water for them too.
