It's like dawn forgot to happen. It's been pre-dawn/post-sunset twilight all morning. I still have the lights on inside.

Wish I was there @BlackAmericanoNoSugar
I'd happily keep the lights on all day 🤣
I love Dublin 💚💚

Rain lashing against the windows here. Awful weather. Wish I was at home.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 19/10/2022 13:09

Loads of thunder now, both distant rolling thunder and the crack-explosive overhead type. A bit of lightning, all high up, I haven't seen any lightning bolts. I was in an underground car park about 10 minutes ago and there was such a loud rumble of thunder that I could feel the vibrations, it was like the building above the car park was falling down.

Office block here and felt the thunder but no lightening yet. Would love to be under my duvet looking out at it.

Pixiedust1234 · 19/10/2022 13:35

I always find thunder without lightning very ominous. Hope its over quickly for you.

Doggiedoodoos · 19/10/2022 13:39

Ah the lightening strikes! Not looking forward to the drive home tonight though. Aside from anything the entire county will be like a carpark.

Wfh today and kids on a half day. Just ordered McDonald's delivery for lunch as it is so dreary and dark. Thunder and lightning being going on for over 30 mins now.

Doggiedoodoos · 19/10/2022 14:10

Friend of mine is waiting in an airport to board a plane home. I tell you I would not be getting on any planes right now.

LadyEloise1 · 19/10/2022 14:24

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar I noticed it so dark too here in Dublin earlier this morning.
Then the thunder came.
It took a while for the lightning to kick in.
The east coast had a starring role on lightning.com today Smile
My friend sent me a picture of one of the wjnd turbines off Arklow on fire. 😱

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 19/10/2022 14:34

Oh wow, that turbine looks bad, it must have been a lightning strike. www.rte.ie/news/ireland/2022/1019/1330042-weather-warning/

I should have thought of that! DD also has half days on Wednesdays and came in wanting to go for a Subway because "there's no food in the house". I put a couple of frozen pains au chocolat in the oven instead because I couldn't face going out again.

Oh I love a good thunderstorm! It rained where I live for hours the other evening and it felt wonderfully autumnal! I LOVE autumn 🍂

LadyEloise1 · 19/10/2022 14:55

I don't love autumn / winter.
I love it from May to September.
Aghhhhh.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 19/10/2022 15:10

I love autumn and winter, but mostly the bright, crisp days. Not the days where it feels like the sun hasn't bother rising and I'm going to need an ark on standby for the flooding.

Like today. 😂

Rounding the day off nicely with a big flash of lightning followed by thunder so loud that my house RATTLED. Shock Plus the apocalyptic rain is back, I'm glad I live near the top of a hill and not near the bottom.
