I'll have to keep it brief this morning. Forecasts are all for London

First impressions are that the weather looks settled from Wednesday, through Monday, though there is a small risk of showers at times. Cool at night with temperatures down to around 10c. Where skies clear, there may be a little fog, this risk increases through the period. Temperatures low 20s or high teens.

Also, here's a hand loo link. www.toiletmap.org.uk

Will update when I can.

Thank you for this. On the loo front they we putting up lots of portaloos yesterday down the Mall though they weren't in operation just yet

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/09/2022 08:12

That's helpful to know @tapdancingmum

In terms of the next couple of days in Edinburgh. The weather looks really nice. Temperatures in the mid to high teens by day, dropping to around 10c at night. Lots of sunshine, so don't forget sunblock.

I'm in London and yesterday saw several lorries on south/central London carrying portaloos and crowd barriers.

I think the traffic disruption is going to be severe and wider than expected.

Thinking back to how long they closed roads for when it's lesser processions, it's going to be several days. And it's going to have to cover all the processional route and at least some of the route out to Windsor.

Plus, there's going to be more international VVIPs in town that ever usually happens, and they are going to need security routes too

Sorry, that's not exactly 'weather' but I'm guessing people interested might be thinking of being there. I'll shut up if it's a diversion too far!

Weather, queuing and toilets all in one post. 🇬🇧
I might go for a wander on Sunday, if London isn't effectively shut by then.

Really kind of you to provide all this info OBBYK

I'm not going but it will be so helpful for those who are.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/09/2022 15:15

It's no problem Emma.

Just a heads up for anyone considering getting a head start and camping out over Tuesday night. There is the potential for heavy rain and thunderstorms, so check the forecast before you commit to it!

Being in London I would recommend layers, it can be quite sweaty in the sunshine but cools down quite quickly in the shade/evening.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/09/2022 07:49

That is wise advise Squid

Wet overnight tonight, especially in the early hours, with perhaps some thunder mixed in. This may last into the morning and perhaps lunchtime tomorrow.

Remember the following is a forecast, forecasts can change, so please check back, or even better, check out the professionals - the Met Office. Remember, I'm just an amateur enthusiast.

After tomorrow morning, it looks as through it will settle down. The occasional shower may occur through into Saturday still.

High pressure takes charge much more from Sunday into Monday. Some sun at times, but also cooling down a little. Compared to the warm temperatures we've been having, it might feel a little chilly, especially into the evening and at night.

So to summarise, at the moment it looks like after a wet start, an improving, but cooling down picture from tomorrow afternoon, rain jackets perhaps useful.

The chance of showers remains through the period, but lessens as we reach Monday. Persistent rain should be all done now though. Gradually cooling down over the next few days.

At the moment it looks sunny for much of Monday. Temperature in the mid to high teens.

The chance of an odd shower today, so take a light rain jacket. Tomorrow again a slight chance of showers. Saturday looks very sunny but chilly in the shade and overnight temperatures dropping into single digits.
Sunday and Monday, generally fine, with an outside chance of the odd light shower I think.

I'm queueing overnight tomorrow @OhYouBadBadKitten - looks pretty chilly! 🥶

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/09/2022 12:36

I think it will feel very chilly after the warmth at the beginning of this week. Good luck!

I forgot to update. Sorry! Chilly tonight! Gloves and hat if you are going and haven't set off yet.
A beautiful if slightly nippy day tomorrow.
Sunday could see the odd shower and much cloudier.
Monday could also see the odd shower, temperature in the mid teens.
