I’ve broken 2 umbrellas this week due to the strong wind. Please has anyone got a link for a nice strong one that won’t keep breaking thanks

The only one I've ever had that's strong is a Senz, www.amazon.co.uk/senz-Original-Umbrella-Passion-Size/dp/B005QLO41Y/?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

It did blow out eventually, but lasted longer. Not four times longer than a normal brolly though, probably.

I can’t say they won’t break, but I have a ‘storm’ brand storm umbrella (which I can’t find online, as a search brings up generic umbrellas for storms)

This has a double canopy and seems to have good quality struts etc that are more hardy than standard

The ‘flip’ brand look like they would survive well as the design is inverted. A common way for umbrellas to suffer is if they pop the opposite way, (you can sometimes pull it back or otherwise it’s jammed)
So if the wind pops the canopy backwards it can be reverted

I’ve not been out in a bad enough storm with an umbrella - if need be then I’d be going as short a distance as possible from car to a doorway, with head down and wrapped deep in a heavy coat

I know it’s so frustrating because the umbrella 🌂 is so helpful for the rain but the wind just ruins everything 😂

We love these ones

A friend from NZ told me about them - and we have found them amazing. A bit pricy but honestly they last and last. Think you can read about how they hurricane test on their website.

I have had luck (though it is annoying) just by using any long handled umbrella that doesn't fold. I have had my longest owned one of those for 10 years now and I think I bought it from TK maxx for about £12.

I do keep a compact umbrella but I don't take it out at all if it's windy.
