Is it still the case that weather forecasts are not very accurate at the moment because few planes are flying because of the pandemic?

For example, I usually look at the long(ish) range forecast on bbc weather app, is it my imagination that's not as good as before ?

I hadn't really thought about this but it looks like you could be right. I've just done a Google on the subject
and there are similar articles to this one, that the lack of flights are making weather forecasting difficult.

sorry, been a bit awol!
My understanding is, that although there hasn't been much impact on the weather, there is some impact, but not as large as we might think, on obtaining the data needed for forecasting.
