BBC published a list of 13 words to describe rain. What did they miss?

Needless to say the UK gets a lot of precipitation and it comes in all forms. I noticed they didn't have my personal favourite:

Bucketing (it) down

I came on to say ‘pissing down’ 😂

in fatc they missed most of the words I use, and included a few I'd never heard of!

I live in LA, so the closest we get to describing rain is "20% chance" or "much needed" or "drought ending."

In Bristol we also say that snow "pitches" when others say it "settles" or "lays".

I think the article is about regional stuff tbh

Maybe we have as many words for rain as (apparently) eskimos have for snow.

Stair rods for heavy rain, as in "its stair rods out there."

I definitely use pissing down, chucking it down, cats and dogs, drizzle, mizzling.

Bucketing down and spitting too.

But then I love rainy weather and always get quite excited by it 😂
