It’s called: Storm Troupers: The Fight to Forecast the Weather. It’s a 3-part series and I managed to record episode 2 which I’ve just watched. Episode 3 is on Wednesday at 8 pm. The first two episodes are up on iplayer: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b07cy596

Obviously, there’s some technical info, but it focuses also on the people involved in developing forecasting methods and what that involved. In the episode I’ve just watched, there were a couple of lovely cameos of people who were involved in data collection during WWII.

It’s a nice, easy watch for anyone interested in how forecasting developed, but, like a lot of technological advances, a lot of it happened because of war and natural disasters.
