Its 25 degrees in my house right now. It's September, in Scotland. It's not right, when is it going to be autumn? I want to wear my new coat damn it!

Yes I wouldn't mind it if it was lovely and sunny but its grey and horribly muggy. I never know what to wear and end up a sweaty mess. It is cooler here today thankfully but it is still 24 in my house!

Not for a while yet - just seen the ECMWF and GFS runs, and it looks like it's going to be warm until well after next week - getting a bit rainy in the UK next week though - enjoy it - it'll be a dank January soon enough...

Delatron · 09/09/2016 14:25

We do keep getting these random mid week, one day only, heatwaves, normally on a Tuesday! Very strange. Never at the weekend..

RepentAtLeisure · 09/09/2016 14:52

I keep wondering if I'm going through the menopause. How can it be September, rainy and grey, but so bloody humid? Angry

Flufflepuff · 12/09/2016 14:46

Noooo not another mini heatwave. Anyone know what the chances of it staying cool on Friday are? We have a day trip planned to Legoland and anything over 20ish feels like death! Confused

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/09/2016 18:53

I think your chances for cool weather on Friday are fairly reasonable:) it might be a bit drizzly.

pinkieandperkie · 12/09/2016 18:54

It's going to be really hot in the south tomorrow, it's strange putting washing on the line in September.

RepentAtLeisure · 12/09/2016 20:06

I might try for a final lawn mow then...

Flufflepuff · 12/09/2016 20:18

Ah, drizzle sounds good to me OYBBK, all the more reason to stop and have a coffee every so often while friends kids run riot Smile

Our weather app's just gone up another degree for tomorrow Confused another week without sleep in the new build - roll on winter already!

Flufflepuff · 12/09/2016 20:20

(Just realised that potentially sounded mammothly judgmental - no kids of my own, going with a friend. Whose kids are lovely Smile partly because it lets me go to Legoland still as a grown up! But SO full of energy...)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/09/2016 20:24

That didn't sound judgemental, it sounded very practical, if kids can't run riot at legoland than where can they?

GloriaSmud · 13/09/2016 11:00

A Level 2 Heat Health warning has been issued for some parts of the UK for the next few days.

'Tis 27.1C already here (Leicester)

GloriaSmud · 13/09/2016 11:03

BBC report ~ today could be the hottest September day for 50+ years.

GloriaSmud · 13/09/2016 16:14

Highest September temperature since 1911. Shock

RatOnnaStick · 13/09/2016 20:09

It can piss off now. Neither of my children are comfy in bed. Ds1's room is reading 27°. I feel all sticky Angry. When is autumn arriving please?

Whatthefoxgoingon · 13/09/2016 20:14

I've run the AC in our house for longer than any other summer previous. Enough already! Confused

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/09/2016 20:18

34.4!! Impressive!

longdiling · 13/09/2016 20:21

September is always a bit like this though isn't it? Or is that just my perception? I always find it a funny old month. I stock up on school tights for the girls and they end up wearing summer dresses and socks.

MalbecAndLindt · 13/09/2016 20:26

Soon please! I adore autumn when it's lovely and crisp, especially in the mornings. Love cosy nights, warm coats, gloves, hot chocolate etc. I hate this sticky and humid weather, especially in the nights as I can't sleep Angry

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/09/2016 20:27

It's pretty extreme for September.

5minutestobed · 14/09/2016 15:38

So when is it going to bugger off and get cold?! October? It can't be this warm in October, that really wouldn't be right!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/09/2016 16:57

warnings for torrential rain Thurs into fri
will be much cooler as the rain moves in.

MadisonAvenue · 14/09/2016 17:03

As a PP said, September often seems to have a warm spell, usually just after the kids go back to school!

Two years ago I remember taking my son to London for the day at the start of November to see the poppies at the Tower and it was warm then. I feel the cold (not that I mind) but was walking around in jeans and just a t shirt, as were most people.

longdiling · 14/09/2016 22:31

Yes, we don't often need hats and gloves on bonfire night. So according to that warning we may go from sweating pints today to getting drenched with rain tomorrow! Crazy

TheLastHeatwave · 15/09/2016 00:56

The weather thing on the iPhone can't make its bloody mind up. Changes between ☀️ & 🌦 ⚡️💦

BBC weather shows ☀️ ALL DAY - but then there's 'warning' of ⛈

MET office ☀️ ALL DAY

The only constant seems to be the 27deg.

I need to know what the weather is going to do so I can plan my day off goddammit! 😤

I have enough trouble planning one day out, I haven't the time for 'alternative plans' 😁
