Weather experts, how hot is it likely to get this week? another heatwave?

I'm hoping for some nice WARM sunny weather this week, but not hot weather.
I'm going to be working in the Peak District/Macclesfield Forest areas, Met Office is saying max 23 degrees on Tuesday which suits me perfectly but they often seem to estimate downwards for warm weather.

What sort of temperatures can we expect across the country early this week and will it cool down by next weekend?

it's not looking hugely hot I think, perhaps 26/27 in the south east Tuesday, but there doesn't seem to be the heatwave that some were forecasting. Cooler elsewhere.

That's good news for me OYBBK, thank you.I was hearing stories of 40 degrees (um yea right!) a few days ago. I can't work in that!

I've noticed the met office have changed today from 28 to a More reasonable 23 in north Hampshire

Evening Standard are saying high 20s for Tuesday and Wednesday but local weather is saying 22/23 which is much better
I can request to work at home, but don't want to waste a favour if there is no need to worry about the Tube at 30c - big difference. In fact 3 weather websites are showing 23ish for London while the papers are still on about a heatwave - I'm confused.

I'm confused as well. We're still getting the hype about a heatwave for SE but met office forecast is just for normal weather for next 5 days.

it is insanely hot in my flat so I am starting to think the heatwave forecasters might be right (I'm in London).

I think the newspapers need to talk to their forecasters again! Temps generally in the low to mid 20s. Perhaps 27-28c I think in some central parts of the south come Wednesday but one hot day does not make a heatwave.

if you think 27 in London on Wednesday I think I will ask to work at home. It would be a bit of a favour this week as I am not really meant to but the transport and baking hot office....bleh. (we have no air con, obvs).

Lorelei, I think it is possible. When looking at met office temps for central London I mentally add on about 2-3c on sunny summer days - it seems to work.

All weather forecasts still looking normal. So confused.

Temps do look pegged back to around 24c for London.

Feels very warm this morning already!
