I leave windows open and curtains shut. No duvets. Just duvet covers. Sleep in pants. I wiped DD over with a damp flannel before bed and left her with a fan! (Or bath and don't thoroughly dry.)

A bowl of ice water set or a frozen water bottle set in front of a fan cools the air rather than just moving it around.

When I was a kid in Australia mum used to put our sheets in the freezer before bedtime.

Also, if you have any waterproof mattress protectors take them off if you're able - makes a big difference.

windows open only when the temperature outside is cooler than the temperature outside! Draw curtains during the day.
Wheatbag in a plastic bag inside the freezer, then remove the plastic bag for cuddling.

Damp towels hanging in front of open windows.

I give them a damp muslin each too. Great around the neck when too hot.

1 - Keep blinds, curtains or shutters closed during the day on the side of the house where the sun is shining.
2 - Take a cool-box ice-pack to bed.
3 - Open the windows
