Is this really summer? Really?!

It's the end of June and still predominantly shit :( I've got a BBQ here with lots of people on Saturday and the forecast is bit of sun and bit of rain but very crappy temp at max of 16. So at this rate we will get basically no good weather? For the last few years August has been crap too but usually June and July have been pretty good to make up for it. I know nothing can be predicted and I can't do anything about it but I am annoyed. I need more sunshine! I don't need 25 degree heat just late teen early twenties and no more bloody rain! Arrggghhh!

They have got what they wanted haven't they. The next time we have a warm day and someone complains on here I won't be responsible for my actions.

I am fed up and miserable with this weather. The torrential rain has kept us housebound and we are all suffering from cabin fever.

The barbecue in the neighbour's garage last weekend was a laugh though.

I'm with you. It rains and is cold and shit for 95% of the year. We had a couple of nice days, it barely scraped 23 degrees to be honest. Out they came 'oh it's too hot, I miss the rain, blah blah'.

If summer ever decides to happen this year I will go nuts if anyone dares moan. You get your shitty cold weather all year. Give us a week without your incessant moaning.

I'm in Ireland and I've the heating on at the moment! We had a lovely stretch of weather in May and bought dd a paddling pool. It took 3 hrs to fill, she got 1 day in it and then the weather turned.........

Sunny atm but yesterday wasn't good. Think it has rained everynight but that's OK. We did have sunny spells yesterday but also occasional rain.

TV just blamed the Jet Stream again as it is below us and should be north of us for good weather . Are they right?

I remember summers as a child we were never in and it was beautiful most days, not a sweaty or uncomfortable heat just lovely summers day...maybe I'm remembering my childhood summers with rose tinted glasses, I'll have to ask my mum

This has been typical summer, as far as I know. A bright, promising spring that descends into rain by school holidays.

I just watched the SE BBC forecast on the weather website. She said last year 01 July reached 34 degrees. We'll be lucky to reach 17 today amongst the showers.

Ah, the typical British barbecue.. it looks promising but soon descends into soggy burgers, damp seats, the chef under an umbrella and a by late afternoon a bitterly cold wind leaves everyone shivering in their summer outfits.

Apparently we are stuck under a jet stream and until it moves away, the weather will be unsettled. (according to Carol on Breakfast tv)

Quite good so far today but cloudier than early on. 21 degrees atm and no rain yet.
Indoors it is 24 degrees but without the sun streaming in through the windows it feels chilly without my fluffy fleece snuggle jacket on.

Supposed to be wetter this afternoon, but we'll see.

Awful weather - feels like autumn not the height of summer. We normally have a pretty decent spell by now but other than the odd day here and there, just nothing.

Not here in South Yorkshire. We have had far more rain than usual. We had a cold spring as well

Definitely worse than usual. Cold spring here too (SE). We had a few nice days in May and that was it. We have normally had at least a week of nice weather by now.

Well according to the daily express we are about to experience a 6 week heatwave. Must be true if the express said so!

Well it looks like we'll finally get two days of decent weather and we already have an entire thread of people moaning.
