Weather warnings ~ Tues 16th Feb onwards for rain/snow

Starting with a warning for rain today/strong winds ~ western bits of Scotland/NW England.
Tomorrow/Thursday ~ snow for some areas. Bit of a difficult one as to who will get snow ~ hilly areas very likely but lower bits, probably will get more rain/sleet with the possibility of a slight covering.

Slightly earlier than forecast ~ rain has just started here (Leicester) 'Tis not going to be a nice day but there has at least been a lovely sunrise ~ all oranges and yellows.

The colder second half of February forecast has been spot on here. Frosty mornings and lots of blue sky. Not so good for snow, although we had the tiniest flurry yesterday. Quite odd to get winter now when it's not getting dark till after 5.30pm. All the seasons seem to have been late.

We've had a sleety shower this morning and temperature's have dipped here (Leicester) over the last few days. Looks much the same over the next few days.

Hi weather gurus - I just saw one of those Express-esque weather headlines warning of a white Easter. Any grounds in reality?

I have a wedding to go to that weekend and am about to look for something to wear - and am staying in an unluxurious castle so need to be prepared.

Stokey ~ according to this, there is a higher chance of a white Easter than a white Christmas. The metoffice have a long forecast ~ might help with what to wear.

We've been having proper snow, big flakes and everything here (Leicester) and it's almost settling Temperature's dropped from 6.1C at 8.48am to 1.9C now.

We have proper snow!

It's been snowing here since about 6.15, its lying and still coming down.

Shame I am working later and the kids are in school.

Snow has caused quite a bit of disruption in Yorkshire and Lancashire.

So on Friday it snowed from 6.15 to 160, DS1 school closed at 10 am, Ds2 closed at 1.30 and DD's didn't close at all!

The snow was 3 or 4 inches deep, and I had to slog to work in it. The buses were cancelled and the kids had snowball fights (while I was at work)!

By Saturday it was melting rapidly, and by Sunday it was mostly gone, though the hi;;s are still covered.

Lovely while it lasted!
