I'm right at the edge of the amber warning. I'm sending everyone home early today. The predicted peak in windspeed is around 6pm for us.

Hail and thunder here at the moment.

Absolutely howling in Stornoway just now. All schools closed tomorrow, buses cancelled. Gusts of 90mph recorded in Barra and South Uist.

But this happens often enough that we're mostly prepared, so no worries. How's everyone else?

Good to hear you are ok Gin. It was wild here earlier, not featured in the warnings but we live in a very exposed spot on a rock in the Irish Sea, gusts of 75+ at school pick up time this afternoon.

But as you say, we are used to it. My main concern was DD2 opening a car door & it flying open & denting the next door car :)
