Is this a real threat to Uk this week or will we get tail end and lots of rain? Met Office seems to give fairly calm forecast but newspapers appear to disagree.

Which newspapers? express & mail always get hysterical & then nothing happens Hmm

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/10/2015 09:45

At present I don't feel that it is a threat. It looks like it will get blocked by high pressure and either fizzle out, or bring some rather wet and fairly windy weather to spain perhaps.

Haven't been on MN much lately but came on specially to find out what you make of Joaquin, OYBBK! At one point it was looking as though it could be a bit worrying. Glad to hear you think it might wonder off.

Autumn has well and truly arrived. Over 50mph of SE wind last night - very rough sea!

Thanks, I was secretly hoping OYBBK would see post. Thank you.
It's just grey here and although Met Office have heavy rain for us there isn't any.

youre welcome :)
these two days have been a bit of a challenge in terms of rainfall intensity. Here we have had light/moderate rain most of the day. The main issue is the gloom though.

GloriaSmud · 06/10/2015 11:21

I'm amazed how much rain we've had ~ 9.3mm in 24 hours. There's also a weather warning for the possibility of slow moving thundery showers today/into tomorrow. Looking at the colour of the sky, we're about to get one of those!

TPel · 06/10/2015 11:28

Its monsoon style rain in South Oxfordshire at the moment. Very very soggy dog snoring next to me.

Stevie77 · 06/10/2015 11:36

How likely does it look we'll have a wet and windy Sat afternoon in the NW? I've 10 kids over for a birthday party and a bouncy castle that is really like to be able to use. Currently, crossing every possible appendage for a dry day!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/10/2015 14:54

Stevie, it looks dry at present, but perhaps quite windy. I'd be prepared to peg the bouncy castle down well!

SideOrderofChips · 06/10/2015 21:15

its pretty nasty here in Jersey at the moment.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/10/2015 08:35

It has been a gruesome couple of days for sure!
