Been rather busy this morning, glanced at the radar and uh-oh. Some of you may be experiencing temporary monsoon conditions. Some extreme rain out there.

Second cold front pepped up much more than I expected - and given the lack of ambers/reds from the met office caught them on the hop too.

Just the one Roll of thunder here in London please tell me there will be more?. Love a good storm.

OYBBK, I am engaged in a running battle (exaggeration, perhaps!) with a friend who says my claims of this being a rubbish summer (in East Surrey) are rubbish. I know there will be stats out at some point about hours of sunshine, average temps, rainfall, etc. but in the meantime, what's your opinion on this summer? Thank you :)

Konserve · 26/08/2015 13:09

it's amazing how it turns from light rain to buckets of rain to torrential and back within 2 mins.
glad that I don't have to leave the house until later.

GothicRainbow · 26/08/2015 13:11

It's really windy here on the hampshire/Surrey border as well as the torrential rain. I'm just hoping we don't lose our electric!

Pipbin · 26/08/2015 13:13

Will we get a day without rain before the schools go back? I'm half way through a DIY project that needs it to stop raining.

SweetestThing · 26/08/2015 13:16

Yes, windy here too - Surrey/Kent border.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/08/2015 13:21

bit tied up with floods at the moment - will come back to you all properly later. Highest 1 hr rainfall total I've recorded at home.

In North Hampshire early this morning I was woken by the wind, or rather the leaves in the wind which in autumn wouldn't be as full. Torrential rain but now bright sunshine and warmth.

GothicRainbow · 26/08/2015 16:59

Yep we finally have blue skies it's lovely! Although wellies still seem necessary.

Konserve · 26/08/2015 18:06

hope your feet stayed dry kitten and everyone.
glorious sunshine now!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/08/2015 19:00

Flooding round here was rather spectacular. Not good for home owners though. To look outside now you wouldn't know what hit us a few hours ago!
