I've been reliably informed that you are a fount of knowledge when it comes to weather!

I am having kittens about our outdoor wedding in 2 weeks time (Bank Holiday weekend - yes I know...but I can but hope!). So the 2 week forecasts I've seen have predicted pretty much constant rain from the Thursday to the Monday at the wedding location (Earls Colne in Essex).

Are the forecasts that far in advance reasonably accurate in your experience?

Yo!

Fortunately forecasts that far in advance are pretty hopelessly inaccurate because you are right, the forecast at present is drowningly wet.

Yesterday though it looked good!

Try not to worry about it, keep bumping this once in a while and I'll give you the latest update.

Thanks - I'll keep it bumped (and everything possible crossed)

Bumpity bump - currently looking like a deluge until about Wednesday and then petering off...?

Yeah, some scattered heavy showers Thursday I think. Friday at the moment looks lovely as does I think Saturday. I do think there is a risk of some heavy showers though Saturday and more probably Sunday. High pressure looks to exert more influence, but the picture looks quite messy with some flabby lows interfering. Unfortunately there isnt a huge amount of agreement in the models, so yet again I'm afraid its a very uncertain forecast.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/08/2015 11:57

thanks OhYouBadBadKitten - yes, none of the forecasts seem to agree!

OYBBK I'm supposed to be driving from Norfolk to Kent after work today (setting off 5pm ish). Do you think the worst storms will have passed by then? Or will it still be going strong, in which case I might delay going until the morning!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/08/2015 13:57

It looks like you will be driving into some heavy rain probably. Not terrible, but a little unpleasant for driving.

MegBusset · 24/08/2015 13:59

Thanks. I've decided to postpone until tomorrow, driving through heavy rain with kids in the car isn't my idea of fun!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/08/2015 14:32

no and torro have issued a convective discussion for the area now (but their website keeps timing out)

Tomorrow - head off in the morning!

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/08/2015 15:23

sounds interesting!
