Weather for mid-May, south of England (coast)

Hi - does anyone know what the long term weather forecast is for South Coast? I am trying to plan my DD's 5th birthday party for Sunday 17 May, and it would be so nice if we could have it in the garden

Sorry, the models only go out until the 5th and even then, its really pushing the boundaries of forecasting. Ask again closer :)

OYBBK is the one to listen to but my DD Birthday is early May. The day she was born was a heatwave and glorious.

It has never been sunny on her birthday since - 8 this year.
Not sure how helpful that is!

I can also add that june 21sthas been more often cloudy at sunset than not in recent years. ...not that that is any help!
