Now than mn is back up again (grrr) I can post this.

It is looking increasingly likely that much of the UK will be hit by a period of wild and windy weather on Sunday night into Monday morning. I suspect early weather warnings will be put out by the met office. It looks like Scotland and Northern England will be most affected. Will update as we get closer to the time.

Oh lovely, Flowers for starting a new thread kitten

I have now abandoned hope for snow in London this year. It was very mild and spring like today. Daffodils are out.

Fortunately the title applies rather well t this weekend Grin

Sunday looks rather windy right across England and Wales, but especially across East Anglia and Southern England where you could see gusts 50-60mph through much of the day. Not severe, but certainly blowy and strong enough to bring down the odd tree here and there.

After last night's weird warmness, there's a Yellow warning for ice for much of Scotland and some midnight snow forecast for Edinburgh....

GloriaSmud · 26/02/2015 21:12

Going from one extreme to t'other, all in 24 hours there, Perihelion!
Our temperature's gone from 10/11C this morning and been dropping throughout the afternoon/evening and we're now down to 1.3C
'Tis going to be a chilly night.

Just got back from a run...not a cloud in the sky, lots of stars out Smile think we might have a visit from Jack Frost in the morning Grin

I'm wondering whether there might be a wind (possibly rain as well?) weather warning issued for western coasts, for Sunday-Monday.
Think next week looks like there could be the return of the wintry white stuff for some higher ground areas.

[[http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=map&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-3.50&lat=55.50&fcTime=1425081600 some warnings over Sat night for the central belt of Scotland and also Northern Ireland) where wind gusts could briefly exceed 60mph I think. Nothing too awful otherwise gusting to around 50mph, perhaps a little higher along some coasts on Sunday.

Are we expecting really high winds on Monday night? I'm in Yorkshire and the BBC weather forecast is showing wind speeds in the high forties/low fifties for Monday night and most of Tuesday, it looks terrifying but there's no weather warning. What do you think OYBBK?
