Warmest Halloween on record!

It's 18.6C in my garden in Edinburgh. It's warmer than some summer days. It's warmer outside than in my kitchen. I'm worried that my dogs are about to start shedding their winter coats. My brain can't cope with it being this hot and it getting at 5pm

Should say getting DARK at 5pm.........see my brain is mince.

We're in Devon. I wish I'd waxed my legs, the lady sitting next to me at the beach is in shorts .

It's so warm! I've just walked the dog wearing a vest.

Dh in London says parks are full of sunbathers.

In East Sussex - took a walk along the front this morning, in shorts, sandals & T shirt. Loads of people on the beach & lots of children paddling & rock pooling. A few swimmers, as well!!

Just coming on to post the same thing :) I've recorded 22c today. Surreal to be sat outside in short sleeves surrounded by pumpkins. It reminded me of ET when ET is sat in Elliot's bike basket and all the kids are out in the sunshine trick or treating!

Ooo, how spooky OYBBK. I thought exactly the same thing about ET when we were carving the pumpkin on the patio in the sunshine!

It hit 20 here today in the NE. Lovely day!

Looks like temperatures are going to be a bit more normal and autumn like next week!

I opened the front door this morning at 9.45 am and thought I had landed in the Canary Islands.
Wednesday was a bit chilly, then Thursday very mild and today steamy warm.
Also find it is getting dark too early especially with a clear sky .

Love not needing the heating on but want the weeds to stop growing and die off.

Think you lot in the UK are just under an area of high pressure (or it could be low pressure, am no expert!) at the moment - here in the west of Ireland it's a rather unremarkable 14 degrees (well, 10 now it's dark) - warmer than average for this time of year, but nothing outstanding!

17.7C now in the dark in Edinburgh. DH and DD out guising in NO jackets....makes all the dressing up look better.

Pumpkins? Couldn't find one to buy today, so made do with a watermelon

Apparently there was a pumpkin shortage due to a poor start and end of the season.

Sadly we are going to transition to cooler weather this weekend.

Already a noticable drop in the chill factor today. A raw damp chill which is very unpleasant.
A good and healthy dry crisp and even cold is what the doctor ordered.
Wednesday is supposed to be even colder so hope it is a pleasant dry cold .
