met office

looks like we could get more of the thunderstorms moving up from the south - maybe some homegrown ones too? Very much a hit or miss affair though with some perhaps seeing lots and others nothing.

It's gloomy here now too, after such a promising start!

It's still warm though.

Not a lot out there at the moment, one around Salisbury and a rather poetic one over central London.

With the skies clearing though i think more will be generated.

just got back from picking up DC's from school. It was like stepping into a sauna when I stepped out of the house.

Is this mugginess likely to lift soon?

There was so much rain last night, I'm surprised it didn't clear the humidity.

Thanks

Mugginess should clear over the weekend.
When its warm the rain often adds to the humidity. Its when rain is associated with a cold front that we tend to get the change in humidity.

Big storm seems to have exploded over EA very quickly!

In Hertfordshire. Lots of thunder/lightning for about twenty mins prior to rain starting. Very muggy today.

Just went out to pick up from the station and its 17 degrees out there.... So strange...

S.Herts.
About 3am-5am yesterday we had thunder and some lightning. Daytime was steamy AM and even more humid/close PM than Thursday.
Around 6am this morning the thunder reappeared.
Dog has been terrified so am waiting for the thunder to go completely before I can take her out .
I can't make out if the noise is an aircraft or thunder Confused

No storms overnight here (Leicester) but like yesterday, 'tis a grey morning and a muggy 15.4C.

S.Herts

We didn't have much rain though and the thunder was rumblings rather than crash-bangs.
Nowhere near as steamy as yesterday and forecast is to be fresher from now on Smile. 18.5 atm and lightly overcast

We had a belter of a storm last night. Apparently an inch of rain fell in half an hour. Usual flash flooding near the sea front.
