If you’ve got a clear sky (rather than the horrible wind and rain we’ve had today), there's an excellent 'Supermoon' tonight ~ we've got clearish skies here (Leicester) and I've just seen it rising above the houses.

Hopefully despite the very bright moon, some Perseid Meteors will still be spotted during the peak nights of the 10-13th August. There’s some excellent information for meteor spotters here and an article from the Guardian here.

So here's hoping that there are some clear skies over the coming nights!

We can't see the meteors. Did watch the iss going over though when we were laying on the lawn trying to meteor spot!

Oh excellent, atticusclaw ~ it kind of makes up for the lack of meteors! I've only seen the ISS once and was surprised how quickly it moves across the sky!

We have an excellent view of the moon tonight and there are some great pictures on the BBC website here. I shall try and do some meteor spotting in a little while but we do have a few clouds at the moment.

The ISS was amazing bright and visible moving across a good part of the sky, one night last week.

I've just been out and after standing there for several minutes, thinking I wasn't going to see any meteors and that it was time to head back inside, 3 went across the sky in the space of a minute or so!
I'm one happy Gloria now!
