here for heavy rain for parts of the north and much of Wales.

It's down to a little low pressure that develops tomorrow.

Is it me, or does the weather keep lining itself for weekends?

I had a feeling when I saw that low on the TV forecasts a day or two ago, that weather warnings might come along with it!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 31/07/2014 21:56

:) well spotted.
It's boom or bust with the weather at the moment isn't it! Either lovely but hot sunshine or flooding. Not so very much in between.

GloriaSmud · 01/08/2014 10:50

The 'boom' being caused by all the thunderstorms when it cools down! But yes, it seems to go from one extreme to t'other at the moment.

GloriaSmud · 01/08/2014 16:35

'Tis quite humid here (Leicester) at the moment, 24.5C and there have been a few thundery showers.
A reminder of some useful websites ~ raintoday, netweather's lightning page and the livelightning one.

We've left the tents up in a friend's paddock, about 100 miles away, with a fair amount of kit inside. We're going back on Wednesday. It's near Bridport Dorset. Please tell me that wasn't the worst idea ever?

Slubberdegullion · 01/08/2014 17:07

Won't be putting up the new tent anytime soon Sad

GloriaSmud · 02/08/2014 11:05

Alpaca ~ from what I can tell, think your tent will be OK until Wednesday!

fatsatsuma · 02/08/2014 12:24

Hello OYBBK and Gloria. Would either of you feel brave enough to give us a longer range forecast for August (with special reference to Norfolk!)? Met Office doesn't look too bad.

ChubbyKitty · 02/08/2014 12:26

Can I jump on the back of fatsatsumA's question as we're going for a day in skeg on the 23rd and as it's to celebrate my birthday I'd rather not get weather'd on!Shock

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/08/2014 12:57

23rd is beyond the time I'll attempt a guess :)

First half this week looks pretty nice at present though I wouldn't rule out the odd shower popping up. After that perhaps becoming a little more unsettled til mid month, but nothing terrible, sunshine and showers, not overly hot with temps in low 20s.

That's pretty much a guess though especially towards the end! It's so much easier when we get a nice strong high pressure rather than the wibbly wobbly ones shown!

Any ideas of what it might be next Sunday the 10th here in Hertfordshire. Party planned!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/08/2014 13:18

It may very well change!! But at the moment it looks warm but unsettled with perhaps some heavy showers.

Thanks OYBBK. hope a nice strong high pressure comes along soon Smile

marne2 · 02/08/2014 18:28

I'm confused by the weather forecasts, have looked a several and all seem slightly different for next week, met office is saying Rain for most of the week for Cornwall, metcheck say sun, so who is right? If it's rain I am going to have to go and repack for holiday as I have mainly shorts and t shirts, I don't think I actually own a pair of trousers that fit ( have lost weight and have been living in a couple pairs of shorts ), I don't have any water proof shoes either Sad.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/08/2014 20:47

Both Marne! Sunshine with the chance of showers perhaps thundery and heavy at times. It's the sort of weather I wear shorts and a jacket in. Especially as I prefer wet legs to wet clothes.

Hellooo...any chance of a forecast for east of Scotland next weekend? Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/08/2014 21:09

It's a little tricky, all of the models show a low pressure sliding up the west side of Scotland so we need to see if that develops. And takes the path it's forecast to. If it does you may catch some showers but not too bad.

Having said that, I'm am very much an amateur as I ought to remind people and quite often you might get a more accurate forecast by picking a forecast at random Grin

kitten I am in Edinburgh early next week - any ideas what it will be like weather wise please.

InkleWinkle · 02/08/2014 21:31

Cheers, amateur or not you're usually fairly reliable Grin

PureMorning · 02/08/2014 21:34

Any chance of good weather in bornemouth on tuesday?

The one planned and booked day of the summer holidays and its looking dicey

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/08/2014 22:08

Pure, it looks like you may catch some heavy showers. Dame, it hopefully pretty dry for the first half but quite possibly changing midweek.
