environment agency
Please pay attention if you are in the relevant areas. It does look potentially very nasty, with perhaps 70-100mm of rain falling in places.

Wondering where all the sand bags are looking at the news headlines- seem to remember a lot of prep of sandbags in 2007, I know that the individual areas have been hard to pinpoint, but in the areas where the environment agency have flood warnings out I hope that householders/ business owners know where to pick them up from.

Our sheep are in fields further along the same brook as my neighbours. We are just wellying up to go and see if they are ok.

Bunbaker · 06/07/2012 19:32

Just seen the river Don at Meadowhall on Look North. It looks grim.

Bunbaker · 06/07/2012 19:36

We have red alerts all over! Luckily we live on a hill.

GrimmaTheNome · 06/07/2012 19:42

Oddly enough, the North West where lots of rain is normal seems relatively OK. Squelchy underfoot but not actually paddling.

HarrietJonez · 06/07/2012 20:06

We've drains backing up in odd places and a few extra lakes forming in fields but not doing too bad here either.

hermionestranger · 06/07/2012 20:11

Imminent alerts for local
Village just been issued here. (where ds1 attends school) I have never know a summer (ha ha) like it.

Bunbaker · 06/07/2012 20:12

Was it not like this in 2007 where you are?

BettySuarez · 06/07/2012 20:13

DD at NASS this weekend (Somerset) Sad hope she is ok Sad

hermionestranger · 06/07/2012 22:09

I honestly don't remember. It must have been but I don't recall it being this soggy for this long.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 07/07/2012 09:17

How has it been overnight for people?

We are down to yellow now and we have trains running again. I hope it doesn't get too bad for those of you in the South West. Raging torrents of water are scary.

Mirage · 07/07/2012 10:18

Sunny and breezy this morning in Leicestershire.

GloriaSmud · 07/07/2012 10:34

As for Mirage, sunny and breezy here in Leicester. I'm hoping it stays like this most of the day as we're idiotically having a barbecue for for DD1s birthday (so different from the day she was born 13 years ago ~ hot and sunny it was then!)

Some worrying pictures from the SW on News24 this morning Sad. Bit more here.

Parts of Edinburgh are flooded.... Flood alerts in various places next to the Water of Leith and Almond rivers and parts of the bypass shut.

T in the Park can't be much fun.

Helenagrace · 07/07/2012 12:25

I'm in Cornwall now and it's fine here but very odd combination of warm and foggy.

We're in Perranporth but I think the real problems are going to be Devon and Dorset. It looks bad there.

Sainsburys have just delivered a monster holiday shop and we're walking down to the beach this afternoon so I'm happy!

mankyscotslass · 07/07/2012 12:31

Greater Manchester, Tameside. Dry here, a mix of cloudy and sunny intervals.

Standing water on the cricket pitches as I went past to football training today - looks like cricket coaching will be cancelled again.

Bunbaker · 07/07/2012 14:02

I have washing out on the line today!!!

Bunbaker · 07/07/2012 15:10

Not any more. I have just dashed out to rescue it from the rain.

mankyscotslass · 07/07/2012 17:24

It's been ok here today - dry and frequent sunny spells.

Coming back from Bolton a short while ago, I could see clouds building to the south and the east, but they haven't got here yet.

HaitchJay · 07/07/2012 17:28

Was v hot & sunny earlier, really pouring down now.cumbria

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 07/07/2012 19:16
