I've just looked at the 5 day forecast, and it pretty much says 5 more days of this. Aaarggh. When will it get better?

I think it's going to get a bit warmer over the next few days but it's still going to be showery. It has been pretty dire and cold over the last few days.

(OYBBK's on holiday atm so I'm not being a very good sort of 'Deputy Smud'!)

peggyblackett · 08/06/2012 14:59

Ah thank you Deputy Smud. This is so,so miserable!

Just came on to start the same thread, am so fed up with this weather Sad, its ment to be summer, the yellow thing is ment to be in the sky and we are ment to be sat in the garden.

Will we ever get a summer? (if not i am leaving the country)

GloriaSmud · 08/06/2012 16:40

Just to add a bit more to my post this morning (and this still won't cheer anyone up either!) but the BBC weather guy on the lunchtime news said that there will be similar weather all through next week and even as far as next weekend as well, so there's still no sign of improvement in the next week or so.

My next-door-neighbour's going to Spain on Monday for 10 days. I might see if I can squeeze myself into his suitcase!

GloriaSmud · 08/06/2012 20:56

Some of the areas affected by the bad weather. (I'm Shock at what's happened to the Lido on Plymouth Hoe. The times I've walked by that when I'm down that way.)

Marne · 08/06/2012 21:11

I'm in the SW and it has been pretty nasty here for the past 24hours, the dd's have struggled walking outside as the wind is so strong and our fence has fallen down (again), the gardens a mess (because i left everything out thinking it would only last a day or 2). Its all my fault for buying a paddling pool, it hasn't stoped raining sinse i walked out the shop with it Grin

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 08/06/2012 21:58

Good job Gloria :) back home now.
Though it will be a little quieter for a day or two I'm afraid there's no signs of any change. Low pressure after low pressure.
If this keeps up then I think that there could be some serious flooding problems - keeping my eyes particularly on Wales and Gloucestershire.

peggyblackett · 09/06/2012 00:26

I hope you had a good hols OYBBK.

Its not sounding great. Any idea what the week starting 25th June might be like ?

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 09/06/2012 08:50

Thanks :)
The GFS model stretches out to the midnight 24th/25th June. It is very unreliable in that time frame! However, it shows high pressure to our SW and low pressure to our NE, with low pressures also out across the Atlantic - which makes me rather unconvinced that the high pressure will become dominant. So no real change showing, but perhaps just a glimmer of hope.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 09/06/2012 08:54

flooding in Wales

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 09/06/2012 08:55

That link I posted to, shows how rapidly things can occur, with probably hundreds of people needing to be rescued according to one source.

Westcountrylovescheese · 09/06/2012 09:01

We have actual blue skies this morning in Devon, had forgotten what they look like. It's not going to last is it?

MirandaWest · 09/06/2012 09:15

The weather will be good between 22nd June and 15th July. As I am marking 600 exam papers between those dates.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 09/06/2012 09:44

splendid Miranda - thank you for your sacrifice!

Westcountry - sadly, no. I am taking the opportunity to clear my laundry mountain before tomorrow arrives.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 09/06/2012 19:54

met office warnings for rain in parts of the ne and north.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 10/06/2012 13:43

more warnings - this time for the SE heavy rain overnight tonight and through tomorrow.

Mirage · 10/06/2012 14:11

I have just bought new wellies-therefore I predict a drought.Smile

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 10/06/2012 18:16

serious issue developing in Wales looks like a dam has cracks in it :(

Northernlurker · 10/06/2012 18:21

I'm so fed up. I managed to get a bit of gardening done yesterday but it's rained all afternoon here. Just stopping now - having saturated everything.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 10/06/2012 19:28

I've developed a morbid fascination tbh. Shades of the summer 2007.
Models haven't got a good handle on the stuff over night and into tomorrow. It could be just wet in the warning areas or it could be localised flash flooding wet.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 10/06/2012 19:59

new thread about tomorrow for those in the se as it is looking concerning.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 13/06/2012 06:53

a glimmer of hope at the end of the month (with some dry days in between the showers next week too). Hints of a high pressure building over the atlantic.
