from the metoffice.
Amber warning for high winds for tomorrow, for SW England.

Friday looks really awful for the the South (strong winds/some heavy rain), most of Wales (rain) and southern bits of the Midlands (strong winds/some heavy rain.)

Yay for going to a caravan on the south/southwest coast tomoz until Monday (fgs I knew I shoulda gone last week)

GloriaSmud · 07/06/2012 11:27

Oh that's a bummer, funky. Is it one of those static ones that tends to 'shudder' in strong winds?

If it's any help, I think Saturday and Sunday look better Bit cloudy, some showers but the wind should drop.

funky ~ Netweather's weather warning. Having said Sunday looks better, it does mention another low pressure system near the south of the UK which might bring more wet/windy weather.

Im going to Weymouth, just checked met office and now fri and sat look dry at least??
Netweather has been most kind to me regarding the weather though lol.

Its on a holiday park so I imagine it will shudder eeeeeeek

I bloody hate holiday parks but will be greatful of all its facilities if the weather is pants I guess.

Its very wet and windy here in north hampshire at the mo and I just wanna hole up and not go anywhere lol

GloriaSmud · 07/06/2012 16:44

Ah yes, those parks with facilities are a godsend when the weather's rubbish!

The summer half term holiday is usually glorious! We're off to not-so-sunny Dorset tomorrow.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 07/06/2012 20:21

Thank you Gloria, on my hols at the moment and very limited access to Internet, so it's a bit of a surprise to see this. It showed up in the models last weekend, then seemed to fade away a bit. Seems like the early models we right. Some very high spot totals of rain and gale force winds.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 08/06/2012 21:52

So, how has everyone fared? Got home tonight and everything looks fine here except some blown over plants.

redwhiteandblueeyedsusan · 08/06/2012 22:33

oh my, oh my, oh my... it was bloody windy. weather reporrt from pembrokeshire... trying to pack the car and couldn't keep the door open as it kept blowing shut. the engine got damp and would not start.. holding the bonnet open for the mechanic was trricky. a walk to the front was ... "invigorating." it was a fight to walk once out of the lee of the houses and the rain and sprray stinging ones face. the sea was right in and rough. the wind was howling. 9never heard it howl like that before as always been inland, noisy yes but not howling. ) rain on and off all the way back to the w midlands. it is cold here even with the heating on as soon as we got home. saw the occasional river overflowing onto water meadows and waterlogged playing fields (monmouth)

here a small branch off the tree, looks old. leaf debris all the way home.

windsock flying in many directions and out to full extent on and off near swansea m4 and full extent futher along m4 (nearer cardiff)

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 08/06/2012 22:47

That does sound rather dramatic!! Good that you made it back ok despite your cars best intentions.

funkybuddah · 09/06/2012 11:20

Well we got to Weymouth yesterday, it was grey and windy but in the evening the sun came out, I'm currently sat on the beach clear skies altho cloud is moving in.

Still windy but not too bad for the coast really at all.

DogEared · 09/06/2012 11:22

In Aberystwyth. Never seen anything like it. It wasn't even raining for very long! :(

MrsRobertDuvallHasRosacea · 09/06/2012 11:23
