Storms today Oxfordshire- reports needed!

A surprisingly active day for some. Any reports around Eynsham please? (around the a34) pm me if you want to keep your location private or reports to torro

About 30 miles west of Eynsham and apart from persistant driving rain all day (forecast said "showers") I wouldn't have said any storms - it certaintly wasn't windy with us.

I know I'm prob too far away to help with your weather reports but at least you know the storms weren't that far-reaching!

It is helpful, cos it shoes that it was rather localised.

Well, at about 4.30 / 4.45, we had thunder and then hailstones the size of which I don't think I've seen before; they were sort of round but then had two 'spikes' coming out either side. Were probably about 1cm diameter and then 5mm spikes. Didn't see the 'tornado' though as we were inside having supper at the time.

In north Oxon close to Bucks border. PM me if you'd like to know where!

I saw some very impressive forked lightening in East Oxon - could see it from Blunsdon Hill (nr. Swindon), where you can see for miles.

DS isn't far from that area so I've just text him to see if he's OK and if he saw anything.

Hi ya badkitten, we were shopping in Witney at 4.20 pm - thunder, forked lightening, heavy rain and huge hailstones, roads were flooded one parked car actually washed down the hill and stopped at the round about! we followed the storm all the way back to bunkers hill nursery at 5 pm love a good storm!

One of my facebook friends is in Witney and posted a video of the hail storm setting off car alarms! Looked amazing. We only had heavy rain :/

The sky was grey and as I like to say 'moody' but when the hail started it was White?

Also there was what looked to be a tower of smoke coming out of the chimney at the old disused quarry - don't know if that was anything?

I have 2 videos of the hail that my husband took but I'm really crap at uploading can email if have email address as just press the little arrow at the bottom of my iPod!
