here
I did wonder this morning whether they would be issues but ran out of time to give any warnings. More water coming.

Thanks OYBBK.... That grass seed I just sowed will mould beautifully Hmm

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 02/05/2012 16:03

it will probably be washed into your flower beds and take root there!

Looks like it's going to be another wet day for us. At least my tadpoles in the pond will be happy

With the forecast in mind, it's not a good time to spot this news report! Have you also seen this, about it being the coolest April since 1989?

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 02/05/2012 20:34

I'd not seen those reports. So April was officially cold as well as super wet=utterly miserable.

Thunderstorms for some in the south tonight again.

Storms started already here!

fivegomadindorset · 02/05/2012 20:37

We lost 38 new born lambs in the rain ons Saturday night/Sunday, we are just on the edge so hopefuly we will miss it.

eggyblackett · 02/05/2012 20:39

Oh no five :(

Fingers crossed they're OK tonight.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 02/05/2012 20:39

:( 5gomad, that's awful, I'm so sorry.

Eggy, which region (roughly) are you in?

eggyblackett · 02/05/2012 20:39

Gloucs

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 02/05/2012 20:40

Thanks :)

Looking at the radar, that storm of yours looks a bit like an advance guard away from the main body of rain. Some heavy returns over France.

Thanks OYBK. Best batten down the hatches then. My poor chickens have taken up residency in my falling apart greenhouse, they look so pissed off with all of this rain. I hope they take themselves off to bed before it starts.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 02/05/2012 21:59

Poor chickens!

looks like the met office struggled with this. We only had 4mm of rain and the warning area seems to have moved away from the south coast.
here look at the 'more details' part which explains a little of the uncertainty in the models.

With immaculate timing, the rain started (here in Leicester) just in time for the school run this morning! Looks like we've got it for most of the morning but it might clear up this afternoon (according to the metoffice.)

headfairy · 03/05/2012 09:33

No storms or us here in Surrey last night - at least none that woke me. I was awake dealing with dd at 12.30 am and 3am and nothing then. Not even rain. Now it's that fine drizzly stuff that gets in to your pores.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 03/05/2012 14:13

it was a bit of a crap forecast wasnt it headfairy!

OP posts:
headfairy · 03/05/2012 21:21

Well crap in the sense that we had drizzly rain instead of a downpour. I'd rather the kind of crap forecast that says rain but actually means wall to wall sunshine!

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 03/05/2012 21:25

Five - that's so very sad :(

I love rain and wind - so it's all good. Shame for all the people who have organised May Fayres :(

OYBBK - any idea what the long range forecast is like for our way - say the 12th of May?

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 03/05/2012 21:54

Not too cold chipping but rather on the soggy side at the moment.

Very true headfairy though I'm developing an unreasonable fascination with my rainfall stats.

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 03/05/2012 22:15

Oh - that's going to change some plans!! Thanks for the heads up!

Will I need to take my kayak to the May Fayre Grin

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 03/05/2012 22:21

This Monday? A brolly would prob be helpful ( which can always double up as an emergency boat)

Can you advise me on this thread please?
