Seems that the rain over the SW probably extends further north into Wales than perhaps first expected (by me at least!) A nice day for a good part of England. Even feeling warm in the sun!

met office have warnings out for the SW today. This evening heavy rain will reach southern England, and whilst perhaps not as heavy as yesterday, it could add to the flooding situation for some. Met office warnings are out for tomorrow in the south

quick bump before work. A good day for those away from Wales/SW to get any waterproofing repairs done before this evening.

Angry There's no way my builders will be back to fix the bit of the new roof which is clearly leaking and has stained the ceiling DH spent hours painting the other weekend before tonight!

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 30/04/2012 14:11

:( pepper.

Looks potentially pretty bad for southern counties tonight I'm afraid. The rain will be convective in nature which means that some places could get complete downpours, but other places not so much. It could be a pretty thundery night too for some.

updated met office warnings

We have just raced an enormous blue/black cloud back from the shops -looks absolutely full of rain but it's not actually hit us yet Hmm

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 30/04/2012 18:27

OYBBK I'm supposed to be going camping at the weekend, in North Wales Sad. I've been looking forward to it for ages. Any chance you could tweak things so is is not frosty overnight Wink

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 30/04/2012 22:01

Oh dear. I think you'll be needing hot water bottles. Have you electric hook up? (pondering electric blankets!? ) once went camping in snow and -2c. Thought we'd die demo exposure when we got ready for bed.

So far the best I have is my whippet who is a wonderful source of snuggly heat but this may not be enough for 5 of us. Much as it breaks my heart I think we may have to cancel, the little DS' get awful cold, bugger.

SeaShellsUnderCanvas · 30/04/2012 22:21

What a surprise you are hanging out here too Losty! I was also seeking out the MN oracle Grin

We had a lovely afternoon on the southcoast, then an absolute cloud burst from about 8.30pm and it hasn't stopped. Back to water torrents down the streets!

LostInWales · 30/04/2012 22:25

SeaShells I was hoping the oracle could use some of her magic charts to waft a bit of sun my way but the best she has is the suggestion of ehu

blackeyedsusan · 30/04/2012 23:58

I am hoping that yellow blob is just south of me...

I do not like thunder and I have to be the big grown up and not hide under the bed clothes. I do not like wind. I imagine my roof flying off (the company that roofed it were hopeless and it leaked over my freshly painted ceiling too..

I can recommend stain sealing spray from the diy store and then paintng over the patch feathering the edges in to the fresh paint. if it has been done recently you should be able to get away with it.

SpawnOfObOb · 01/05/2012 00:42

Massive thunderstorm in N London right now. Dogs are going loco :(

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 01/05/2012 07:11

We had one at about 1:30 that overall lasted for about 45 minutes. Not very frequent thunder, but there was one that made us all jump with its loudness. Some heavy rain for a while.

GloriaSmud · 01/05/2012 20:53

Just as forecast, was a miserable wet day here in Leicester.
And I've just looked at Saturday's forecast for us and it says it'll be 8C during the day and 1C at night! The temperatures are not heading in the right direction at all!

CMOTDibbler · 01/05/2012 20:57

Rainy but not awful here today, but spectacular river flooding and the peak won't be till tomorrow
