Any chance of dry weather? It's her second time camping, and she is not the hardiest of creatures. She's going to get soaked, isn't she.

Well, at the moment it doesn't look terrible for the whole time, though the 4 th does look rather on the soggy side.

Thanks OYBBK Smile

Personally, I wouldn't fancy camping but I expect she will have fun. I feel very sorry for anyone under canvas this weekend.

she will be well looked after!! make sure she has good waterproofs , coat and trousers and wellies plus hat, gloves and loads of dry socks. Send clothes she can layer up to keep warm. Not jeans , they get cold when they are wet.
Give lecture about keeping everything in her rucksack in the tent so it doesn't get damp or walked on and line her rucksack with a thick bin liner. Send extra poly bags for wet stuff. Tell her not to change clothes unless they are wet or very muddy...it's not a fashion show and smelling a bit is better than being wet!!

and..tell her to layer up in bed too, not thin pjs, use long sleeved tee, leggings, socks, fleece and hat!! and sleeping bag liner or if you haven't got one, we buy cheap fleecy blankets from sainsburys or tesco and sew into a bag to line the sleeping bag.

an old scout saying:

Your clothes will dry
Your skin is waterproof

What great advice. She does have waterproof trousers, plus jackets and thermal base layers. She also has a medical condition which makes her susceptible to the cold, but her leaders are aware of it. In fact one has a brother with it, so he knows her limitations, but also that she doesn't need mollycoddling.

I did draw the line at the early January camp though. Once she gets cold, it is very difficult to warm her up. At this time of year, it shouldn't be too cold.
