Has anyone done OU course S189 Understanding the weather?

I have done some OU courses in the past, but none this year. I really need to get some points before September to avoid the fee increase, so I have decided to do S189.

I think I will find it interesting. Has anyone here done it?

yes :) and it was interesting - firmed up some gaps in my knowledge. You can pm me if you have any questions.

Well I have lots of gaps in my knowledge, so that's why I thought the course would be interesting Smile. I haven't got my course materials yet, but I'm looking forward to getting them.

My main motivation though is to qualify for the transitional funding arrangements. Just doing one short course before September should save me £££ in the long run.

OYBBK I haven't got my EP appointment yet. I have been trying to chase it, which is rather like wading through mud in a Kafkaesque universe. I hope you have had more luck.

Tis a good one to do :) there is some observation work to do which counts for one of the questions so if you do it, make sure you get some good obs done.

I phoned the consultants sec. She hadnt got the info that I was supposed to be seen in clinic 'very soon' and didnt have any 'very soon' appointments. Go back to my gp and ask her to ask them to hurry it up. grrrrr. In the end I asked to book a private appt so I could at least talk to the chap who has been prescribing meds via my gp over the phone. Cant afford to do the ablation privately but a conversation will hopefully be helpful. Will let you know how it goes.

Sounds like you have been wading through the same muddy swamp as me. I had been told to chase the appointment after three weeks. Three weeks passed, and the EP's secretary didn't have a clue who I was when I called her.

Goodness knows how people that are not pushy assertive get through booking an NHS appointment.

its a bit of a nightmare! I hope you can get your appointment through soon.
