Is it too early to say we won't get any nasty snow in the South this year?

It's a hell of a lot warmer than the last few winters. I assume the temp needs to drop for some period of time if we're going to have another snowmageddon?

Are the cold weather systems not over us or is the wind not coming from a cold continent?

I don't mind a bit of snow, but don't want it hanging around for 2/3 weeks like it has done the last 3 years.

Ooooo how exciting!!

lubeybooby · 31/12/2011 15:24

I think we are stuck with a boring, wet, miserable, fun ruining mild winter. Meh.

Still too early for the south but please refer to this thread for tuesday snow for those in the the north.

Meglet · 01/01/2012 11:55

I'm holding my breath until mid-Feb. We'll be out of the woods by then, I hope.

I don't like wet weather but my energy bills are looking quite low and I want to save some cash Grin.

some interesting indications of possible colder weather in around 10 days or so....

I can almost guarantee that it will not snow as I have snow boots for all of us, ski gloves for the boys and 2 brand new sledges waiting to be used!

singinginthelifeboats · 01/01/2012 22:34

Yup - I have the best snow shovel in the world and 'trax' for my shoes, my daughter has bought a plastic snow board off Ebay..... it wont snow now!

NoHunIntended · 01/01/2012 22:35

I soooo want snow! For weeks and weeks please. A month will do, nice and deep, lovely!

AmberLeaf · 01/01/2012 23:00

NoHun....... NOOOO !!!!

Its lovely up to a point and I was glad when it snowed 3 winters ago as it was the first time my children had ever seen proper snow, but enough is enough!

Its been fab so far ive not racked up a huge gas bill for the first time in several years, im loving this mildish winter!

Stay away snow!

AmberLeaf · 01/01/2012 23:03

Oh and in the snow last december my food shopping delivery was cancelled [fair dos] but twas a real pain in the bum as I dont drive and cabs were thin on the ground...unlike the snow.

NoHunIntended · 01/01/2012 23:03

Amber, but MY DS wasn't old enough to appreciate it last year, this year, maybe just!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

NoHunIntended · 01/01/2012 23:04

Ah yes, my groceries were forsaken due to snow last year too! But I'd still like snow this year please!

AmberLeaf · 01/01/2012 23:32

Meh! ok maybe for 2-3 days, just enough for your DS to frolick in it and build a snowman...but then a big thaw pleeease!

whomovedmychocolate · 04/01/2012 07:32

We had snow at 5am for half an hour (Oxford). It has melted Hmm

LIZS · 04/01/2012 07:50

Way too soon . We had it 3rd week of January year before last and have even had it in April in recent years.

Trills · 04/01/2012 08:31

I can remember more February snow than any other month...

OhyouBadBadkitten · 04/01/2012 13:01
