Rainy weather warniongs for monday tuesday next week

from the met office for the western side of england and also Wales. Could be pretty gale-ish as well.

Looking at the amount of rainfall and the areas it's predicted to fall, I'm getting quite concenred about the possibility of another Boscastle scenario developing.

exactly my thoughts :(

two things in favour for a similar event not to happen (I hope): I dont think the rain will be as exceptionally intense as it was on the day that Boscastle flooded and also, I dont think the ground is as saturated - when Boscastle occurred it followed a period of generally very wet weather.

Home safe if a little soggy, the good news is that there are road maintenance guys all over, we noticed them making sure all the drains were clear of leaves in the worst affected areas. Lots of wet on the road, not so rainy here now either.

Hope everyone stayed safe yesterday and that everyone in in the Grampians stays safe today (still a weather warning out for them.) I thought I heard on ClassicFM at 7am, that there were weather warnings covering western bits as well e.g. Yorkshire, but doesn't seem to be anything on the metoffice site.

Western bits?! ~ since when was Yorkshire in the west of England??! I meant eastern bits of the country. I can read a map, honest!

bbc reports In the end, although clealry it was quite bad, fortunately I don't think it rained as much as some of the models suggested.
