met office warnings for heavy rain here

A potentially lively front will move south and east across the UK bringing heavy rain and perhaps strong squally winds, thunder and hail. It wont reach the SE until tonight.

Please keep the thread bumped as I'm out for much of the day :)

bump :)

Looks like the NW is the area that will probably see the most active weather from this front. Also worh noting that there may be some snow in Highland Scotland today.

Anyone know anymore detail on this?

Very nice squall line developing on met office radar over Ireland and NI - will be interesting to see what happens to that as it crosses the Irish sea.

Ah, posted on your frost thread....torriential rain today, which looked like sleet at times on the windscreen and 5C at 4pm in Edinburgh....nice....

lostinwales · 17/10/2011 19:36

Yup sitting under a red bit on the satellite picture and I can confirm the rain is very heavy! And it's cold

lostinwales · 17/10/2011 19:38

D'oh, not satellite, radar image, I'll get my coat Grin

OhYouBadBadGhostie · 17/10/2011 20:41

Any reports from overnight? :) Quite uneventful here in the south, some heavy rain, a sharp drop in temp and a bit blowy.
