Why is it so windy this spring/summer?

Sorry if ths has been asked before, but although we have had fantastic weather all through April and May in the SE, it has been very windy. Why is that? It's not usually so windy all the time in the SE.

One of my rose bushes is bent over and almost snapped in half.

I want summer back .

It is definintely dominated by westerlies isnt it! we seem to have had an endless series of low pressures to our north (hence poor scotland drowning) and therefore bring westerlies across us all the time. Jet stream position and all that I think.

OYBBK, is it going to carry on for the rest of the summer?

I wish I knew the answer to that! Possibly hints of a high pressure building over us towards the end of the month. That would be good.
