Any reports from around that area would be very much appreciated!

I live near LHR. We had a thunderstorm around 5.30pm, with lightning and thunder within 10sec. It was fairly short lived.

It is still quite breezy, and the sky is dark.

What was the wind like MmeBlueBerry? thank you :)

It wasn't particularly remarkable. Not intense at all.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/05/2011 21:02

Interesting. What ever upset Heathrow must have been very localised indeed then.

flooded apparently near mill hill causing jams

we had massive hailstones and it was intense on and off for hours

MmeBlueberry · 26/05/2011 21:04

I am within 3 miles.

Sometimes I think BAA is ultra cautious.

southeastastra · 26/05/2011 21:05

would hailstone affect flights in and out? seems unlikely!

MmeBlueberry · 26/05/2011 21:07

Not the hail you get in the UK.

Grapefruit sized hail would not be off-putting.

SEA - when you say massive - what would you compare them too? Did they do any damage and did they accumulate at all?
of to bed now but will check back in the morning :)
