oh for goodness sake. They appoint one and that will be the end of snow forever more in this country - no more snowball fights, no more sledging, no more bunking off staying in cos its not safe to drive.

Mind you - I could apply for the job

I was thinking the same thing! It would be 'tempting fate' to appoint one and I want more white winters (perhaps not as cold as last December though!), not less!

And you'd be brilliant at this job, OYBBK! Aided by your weather knowledge, you could have one of those big maps of the UK in a room, like they had during WW2, with little cars, buses and planes to move about. It would help keep the country moving when snow hits!
