Southern states on tornado watch again, plus areas being put on flood alert on the 100yr flood plains on parts of the Mississippi.

Near record or record flooding is expected in some areas.

yeah, its breaching levees in Illinois amongst other places. A nightmare season for them this year :(

Is it a very strong La Nina?

Just seems one thing after another at the moment, and Hurricane season is about to start.

Reports now say they have confirmed that there was a 2nd EF5 tornado last week.

According to this la Nina isnt particularly strong but I think the jet stream is very active (and is still in an unusual position for us I believe - going very far south down to the med)

I do remember a programme I watched a while ago about the Jet stream and it's impact on American weather (and ours), that makes sense, thank you!
