Wouldnt be surprised to hear reports of some light snow showers over this weekend particularly in central and southern areas.

Longer term, looks quite settled but maybe, just maybe at the end of the month, early Feb a return to more snowy conditions - a few hints popping up in the models.

I think the plants in my garden might be a bit surprised... I've got bulbs coming through and buds on the trees etc!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 21/01/2011 08:45

Nooooooooooooo!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/01/2011 08:51

worszel - I had to tell one of my cats to stop moulting today as winter wasn't over yet.

Noooooooooooooooooo too! No, no, no .

I am pregnant. DH works 300 miles away. I waddled the DDs backwards and forwards through snow and black ice all through December in fairly good humour. The frosts are still so severe that they regularly turn the paths to pre-school into an ice rink; I have dealt with this fairly good humouredly. If the weather thinks it can snow in early February when I am due, making life with 2 under 4s even more tricky and possibly hindering DHs return from deepest, darkest Devon when I go into labour then it can think again

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/01/2011 09:11

Perhaps I shouldnt have said anything! it is just hints in the models. Though, given the power of mn, perhaps we can protest the snow away?

I'll email God and cc Mother Nature.

That'll show 'em!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/01/2011 09:37

I shall stand in my garden waving a placard at the sky.

I'm going to stick to my 4yr old little madam impression, doesn't involve too much energy. Or d'y'reckon MN could strike fear into Dave Cameron about this too?

And OYBBK - I suppose forewarned is forearmed or something...

mozette · 21/01/2011 10:43

Oh yes OYBBK! This weather started on my birthday at the end of November!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/01/2011 09:26

we had a few flakes today. also an interesting one - tiny little clear ice pellets. Not graupel, not snizzle more like very pure looking hail. Maybe frozen drizzle which I shall proudly call frizzle.

winterpetunia · 22/01/2011 17:53

Snizzle and frizzle; I'm LOL at OYBBK making up her own weather phrases! Can't see the BBC weather people using them though!

No sign of snow here; had lots of cloud but the sun managed to break through mid~afternoon.

Glitterknickaz · 27/01/2011 21:23

oybbk how's it looking down here next week?

nancy75 · 27/01/2011 21:32

we had a tiny bit of snow today (se london). Oh i hope we don't have more.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/01/2011 07:11

sorry glitterknockz - didt see your post. A definite warm up is on the cards by tuesday. Milder, wet and quite windy. Will be quite a contrast to Monday.
