Bloody hell, I thought I would get a rest this week before next weeks potential renewed onslaught. Every time I look at the weather there is another snow warning for someone.

Yorkshire and Humber this time.
Please dont get all stuck. At this rate we'll have the entire uk stuck in a traffic jam!!

I love Brid Smile

I don't actually live there, but it is a good place to go Grin

OK, it's not exactly fashionable, and there's no shops, but I have a house on a lovely road that's twice the size as the ones for the same price as my friends have in Beverley, so I'm OK with that! And they're not a couple of minute's walk from the sea, either.

Blush

chickens - when I get onto my proper pc I'll see about setting up a thread about next weeks prospects. They will probably end up being wildly inaccurate but never mind eh?! dd has nicked the pc at the moment.

Noah, that Whitby road is deep in new snow this afternoon, several cars already come off because of it and it is ??closing again tonight - it only opened a couple of days ago. Shock

I love the Hockney pictures of the Wolds, they do make me a teeny bit home sick.

Still it's not fair, you've got all the snow AND my mum and dad!

drivers stuck on the moors

feel rather bad for my flippant comment at lunchtime.

Pouring with rain in Brid right now according to my home FB friends, hope that clears it and doesn't cause too much ice. Parents need to get to their house in the dales as they had a mouse infestation after the rains swelled the beck and need to empty the traps

No more snow in York. And only about -1 or so

Hello, anyone left on this thread? I have a question for all you East Yorks/Brid MNers. Is it really so bad that there is no postal service or bin collections still? It's so clear over here in the west I just can't picture it.

coastgirl · 09/12/2010 17:15

It's never got to that stage in Brid - we've had bin service and post the whole time. Same for the localish area I think, although further south there is still no post in parts (Hull area and around).

There is, however still bloody INCHES of snow on the ground which has now acquired a Viennetta-style layering effect of snow and ice. Lethal stuff.

sethstarkaddersmum · 09/12/2010 17:22

we haven't had a bin collection this week but post has been every day, just later than usual. Buses are all on time.

Thank you, someone has been telling me porkie pies....

I like the Vienetta image coastgirl. I think next time I come home there's going to have to be an east yorks meet up. I love the idea of all you MN'ers in my old home town!
