as do the thermometers in both cars.... there's certainly a BIT of ice kicking around but it honestly doesn't actually feel that cold....

Plus we haven't even had to scrape the cars at all.

What's occuring? Me no understand...

It is -5 here, has warmed up a bit from -7 when DH went to work.

It was only -1 when we went out to church yesterday morning and I didn't think it felt that cold, I suppose we have just got used to it! It has been as low as -12 here during the day last week, so -1 will feel warmer than that.

SlightlyTubbyHali · 06/12/2010 10:48

My car says it's -2 here (London). Car did need a good scraping.
Maybe your car was parked near a house/something warm?

Oh, and I have noticed it feels warmer when it is about to snow or snowing. Are you about to get some more? (I have no idea - have stopped watching the weather!)

Not in Yorkshire then?
Met Office was reporting -14 at Church Fenton, Leeming and Linton on Ouse.
The York City rowing club's web cam shows the Ouse frozen completely across (not thickly mind). First time I can remember that happening!

our car said it was -17 !!!!! at 8.15am this morning on south yorks.north notts border - i am truly fed up of this cold and snow

OhYouSnowySnowyKitten · 06/12/2010 12:33

-17C is very very revolting!!!!

Don't know the temperatures but all the buses have stopped running - for a major city, that's pretty unheard of Shock Also many roads closed, main streets closed, schools closing.

And shit, have just remembered that dh has a 4 mile bus ride home (mildly worried that it didn't occur to me for 30 minutes, oops).

Glitterknickaz · 06/12/2010 19:46

but how come I didn't have to clear my windscreen?

Well, if the air was dry, no frost would form.
