I'm getting a bit muddled about which thread to post what on and it all changes so quickly anyway.

I see that the NE of scotland is getting somewhat buried. Lots of organised showers through the NE and through East Anglia today too.
Some of central southern England had some over night. There is a risk for substantial snow over night in that region.

warnings for many

off to look at the models now..

OYBBK I love your forecasts it's the first thing I look for this last couple of weeks. Smile
I hope the snow moves further inland but it's not doing too much at the mo.

FoundWanting · 27/11/2010 10:50

DH and DCs are outside building a snowman right now. Looks pretty good, but the early morning snow is beginning to thaw.

We're in Norfolk and I haven't seen two forecasts that say the same for us. Much more reliable to just look out of the window.

tammybear · 27/11/2010 11:08

What's the snow level like in Derbyshire way? Someone we know is suppose to come down for the day from that way so wanted to know if it's bad or not?

We've had hardly any here (Hertfordshire)

MrsThisIsTheCadillacOfNailguns · 27/11/2010 11:16

Snow here in Leicestershire,at last.Nothing at 1am,but by 3am there was about 2 inches. No more yet but the sky is alternating between bright blue and grey.I'm hoping for more.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/11/2010 11:18

Foundwanting - that summarises it pretty well really - in this kind of situation all you can talk about is 'possible' or 'probable'

Lady - it could pep up round your way - you are right that blob is tantalisingly close.

Southern snow band is eeeeeever so sloooowly moving a little bit north over the SE.

ethelina :) thank you. Do remember I get things wrong a lot though!

We've just been out with sledges, not great snow for it, or for snowballs etc, its so fluffy! It's been snowing again got about an hour here, comes well over my walking boots!

SleepingLion · 27/11/2010 11:41

Light dusting this morning here in Worcestershire - poor DS was so excited but the skies are blue now and the snow is almost gone.

I am happy about that but I do feel bad for him Sad

DanceInTheDark · 27/11/2010 12:07

we have about half a cm at the moment. (South Manchester) there were some 'snowy clouds' earlier but they carried on their journey and we have mostly clear blue skies. It's apparently 4 degrees too.

DanceInTheDark · 27/11/2010 12:08

I have to say that seeing as we got it for the longest (aside from scotland i imagine) last time, it's quite refreshing to be missed lol!

mankyscotslass · 27/11/2010 12:14

Not a thing here apart from a hard frost!

DanceInTheDark · 27/11/2010 12:18

MSL - you're not that far from me are you?

JenaiMarrsTartanFoxCube · 27/11/2010 12:18

Here in Bath it snowed for a few hours yesterday evening, and has been snowing again this morning.

There's enough to look pretty but no one will be snowboarding down Little Solsbury this afternoon!

JenaiMarrsTartanFoxCube · 27/11/2010 12:20

Right on the outskirts btw. Probably seems less snowy in town.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 27/11/2010 12:22

Any more snow likely in the south west? We're just on Dartmoor, had a little bit yesterday but none so far today although it looks a bit snowy.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 27/11/2010 14:37

Just to answer my own question - we've just had some flurries over the last hour and it's still snowing very lightly.

mankyscotslass · 27/11/2010 14:56

DITD, I don't think I am so far from you, I'm Denton!

mankyscotslass · 27/11/2010 15:06

So far? Too far!

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 27/11/2010 15:09

We'd had no forecast of snow until Tuesday (Northamptonshire) - but had a bit this morning that settled (only a thin covering) - most of it gone now - or turned to ice

GrimmaTheNome · 27/11/2010 15:12

No snow near Preston - can't even see any on the Bowland hills. DD is gutted that everywhere else seems to have some.

Ewe · 27/11/2010 15:13

Does anyone think it is likely to snow in London this afternoon/evening? I need to think about my footwear choices for night out!

goingroundthebend4 · 27/11/2010 15:16

Nothing at all in East herts :( was heavy ground frost but sun been out and now all gone

mankyscotslass · 27/11/2010 15:24

I keep having to put fresh water out on our bird feeder. It's only lasting an hour or so before freezing over!

DanceInTheDark · 27/11/2010 15:27

MSL - I am stockport so not a million miles. :)

its 1 degree now and everywhere outside just looks cold

GeorgeWBush · 27/11/2010 15:56

just had a half hour blizzard on the Isle of Wight.
