hi my dd is 6months and so far weaning has been going well. she has had lots of fruit and veg pureed and fingerfoods. also tried chicken.

i am planning on making her spag bol and pureeing it for her. does this sound ok -

lean mince beef
tinned tomatos
garlic
onion
mushroom
spagetti

does anyone think this is ok or anything else i can throw in

thanks

I always start with carrot/celery/onion/garlic
you may need tom puree too, and I use red wine (all the alcohol boils off and it's not salty like stock)
also oregano

don;t puree it though, put it on smaller pasta like penne and let her dig in with her hands while you eat the rest

thanks mrs badger
is oregano fresh like a herb?
would have never thought about red wine, are you sure thats ok?
thanks

I used dried oregano but only because I can't keep it alive in the garden

and yes wine is fine so long as well cooked

I don't make much baby-only food - my bolognese is a Jamie recipe where he does it in the oven - we make a huge one eat some and freeze seome for later (without pasta obv)

Chopped up sun dried tomatoes and some green lentils always go in my spag bol.

My spag bol is the same as yours, only with tomato puree.

My (10 mo) DD loves spaghetti - she puts one end in and goes sshhhlluurrppp! But fusilli also works well as the mince sticks in the twists.
