my weaning with ds1 was terrible, at 12 months he was still eating 4month baby purees because he couldnt tolerate lumps and wouldnt eat finger food.
ds2 was fine with the puree jars but now coming up to 8 months so have moved up to the stage 2 jars and he hates them, hes not choking like ds1 used to, just clamping his mouth shut and refusing to eat, he'll have one mouthful and then nothing.
Its not his appetite because he will happily go on to eating yoghurts and biscuits/rice cakes etc.

Any suggestions are advice needed please
TIA

Yeah, I agree about pasta shapes, we get one that I think is called spirelli (sort of penne that spirals if that makes any sense ) and that is very easy for them to pick up.

mosschops30 · 08/07/2010 14:03

well good news, ds2 is enjoying food atm
he ate most of the chilli spaghetti
no idea what he ate yesterday as I was in work
today he had porridge for breakfast and then at lunch I gave him toast, pieces of cheese and some chopped tomato. Which he loved
All good so far

zebedee its nothing special but we love it:

spaghetti
extra virgin olive oil
fresh basil bunch
tin of chopped toms
tomato puree
4 chillies (or less if you prefer)
4 cloves of garlic
pack of sliced smoked pancetta

put spaghetti on to cook
heat up 6 tblspoons of extra virgin olive oil
add crushed garlic, chopped up basil and finely chopped chillies to the oil until basil begins to melt
take out of pan and put to one side
add chopped tomatoes and puree to pan and heat
add oil, garlic, chillies and basil to tomatoes
fry off sliced and chopped pancetta then add that to your other pan
add spaghetti to mix and serve

{smile]
