Mayonnaise?

Just wondered if it's ok to give Mayo to my DS who is nearly 7mths.

I know during pg it's ok if it's not homemade coz of the raw eggs. So is it the same for babies?

Obviously I wouldn't give too much, just with tuna or egg etc.
I love the stuff and gave him a few spoons of tuna Mayo yesterday without realising.
Also is salad cream ok too?

Thanks x

From what I remember of the NHS info I've read, eg in the birth to five book, there is not much that you must avoid (honey, whole nuts), but undercooked eggs is one of them, so yes, it would be best to avoid homemade mayo. I personally can't see any reason to avoid shop bought, but I'm not a medical expert.

I can't see any reason why salad cream should be a no-no, but I personally would use mayo rather than salad cream for my DS as I think salad cream has more artificial stuff in it. But OTH I wouldn't worry particularly if he ate some of my egg & salad cream sandwich.
