How many petit filous a day is too many?

At 7 months, how many petit filous a day can my DS have? It says suitable from weaning, and they say 2 pots gives you the RDA of something or other, but at what age?? Surely a 7 yr old would have a different RDA to a 7 month old?

One - buy a pot of plain greek yogurt, and squeeze a bit of fruit puree into a serving instead. Far cheaper, and less sugar.

More seriously, one is quite enough - it's easy for babies to eat them, and they can start to refuse other things in favour of them, and although of course they aren't the work of the devil, they aren't developing the range of things your baby will eat being bland and smooth and sweet

They are packed with sugar so I wouldn't give too many.

That RDA thing is just to make it look like they're health food. They're not.

One petit filous a day, and in a year your DC will have eaten over 2kg of sugar

That was on the 'Panorama' programme about childrens' diet.

Agree with CMOT. Natural Greek yoghurt with real fruit or fruit puree.

Hmmm he ate 3 a day some days last week - however exceptional circumstances. He's having one a day at the moment. I'll try the greek yog and fruit puree, see if he's take that instead. Ta.

Mine has only been given natural yoghurt (not even with fruit puree, I'm mean, me) and rejected a petit filous quite forcefully when offered by Grandma (10 mo).

Oh my DS didn't like it the first time, but now it's his favourite.

My DS has sometimes had plain yogurt and fruit, but also had some other yoghurts which are not quite as sugary.

The Yeo Valley 'Little Yeos', Plum Baby and Rachel's ones are not too bad, I have tasted them all (for quality control purposes ) and the Petit Filous taste sooooo sweet in comparison!
